I was born in the Spanish capital Madrid, in a large family of hard workers and food lovers. I have traveled across the whole of Spain, by car, by train, by plane and I particularly love our gastronomic variety.

As a local tour operator, we focus on high-end trips exploring Spain and Portugal in style. Be it visiting the Sagrada Familia on an exclusive visit before opening hours or taking your travel group to an up-and-coming restaurant rumored to soon be receiving its first Michelin star.

We work closely with selected suppliers all over the country and, while we are able to offer trips to our beloved Canary and Balearic islands too, the mainland is our true expertise. Choose your transportation mode, from self-driving in a rental car or having organized transfers for you to taking the extensive train network, we’re able to combine all different modes of transportation to get you where you want to be.

The best of Portugal: From Lisbon to Porto

We just wanted to give you some feedback on our itinerary. We were happy with all the hotels but especially enjoyed Melia Aeroporto. It was beautiful and the staff was professional. We had dinner there and enjoyed it. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious. We enjoyed all our stops and really enjoyed the Fado show. Boca do Inferno was a beautiful stop. Sintra was hard to access so we did skip it but stopped in Cas Cais briefly and thought it was lovely. The sailboat cruise was ok but it was drizzling and they didn't tell you what you were looking at unless you asked for that information. Porto was amazing and the wine cellar tour was wonderful. We enjoyed our meal at Escondidinho. Guimaraes was great and we enjoyed lunch there in the courtyard. Douro Valley was beautiful and the river cruise was well worth it. We had dinner at The Vintage House which was classy. The surrounding area was desolate at night. Next time we book with Rough Guides we would definately stay away from a standard transmission rental car. We appreciated your guidance and to know that you were accessible most times when we had questions. We had a great trip and thank you for all your knowledge. Will definitely recommend Rough Guides for future travel.

Just wanted to express my thanks to Joel and Rough Guides for a wonderful trip! Everything was well-chosen and we just loved all of the hotels, sightseeing recommendations, activities, etc. The one time we had an issue (and it really was only one time), I called Joel and he responded immediately and fixed the problem. We had a wonderful trip to Portugal. Our agent was extremely responsive and designed an itinerary based on our interests and desires. We were able to experience many different sides of Portugal and we loved them all.

We found this service through an internet search. All details of a 10day trip to Spain for a family of 5 were coordinated by them including sight seeing entrance tickets, guides, cooking classes, accommodations, transportation between and within cities, etc. the vacation was amazing and seamless and far less expensive than other tour options. We would definitely use them again.

The hotels were fabulous and we were greeted and treated with care. The itinerary proved outstanding. The drivers were wonderful. He was always on time, made changes to shift stops around to make the history more evolutionary and he was so knowledgeable about the history and included other very interesting facts. He made the vacation exceptional. We were just so pleased. I want to thank you and the team that made this so memorable for us. We fell in love withe Portugal thanks to you.
